Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Orion Asset Tracking Platform ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement.

2. Description of Service

Orion provides cloud-based asset tracking and management software, including GPS tracking, barcode scanning, RFID support, maintenance scheduling, and related features.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Subscription and Billing

4.1 Free Trial

New accounts receive a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required during the trial period. After the trial, you must subscribe to continue using the Service.

4.2 Subscription Plans

Subscription fees are charged in advance on a monthly or yearly basis. All fees are in GBP (£) unless otherwise stated.

4.3 Payment Terms

Payments are processed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method for all applicable fees.

4.4 Refunds

Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as explicitly stated in these Terms.

5. Data and Privacy

5.1 Your Data

You retain all rights to data you upload to the Service. We do not claim ownership of your content.

5.2 Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

• Multi-tenant database isolation
• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Regular security audits
• AWS S3 secure storage for files

5.3 Data Retention

Upon subscription cancellation, your data is retained for 60 days to allow for reactivation. After 60 days, all data is permanently deleted.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Upload malicious code or viruses
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Interfere with other users' use of the Service
• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

7. Service Availability

7.1 Uptime

We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible.

7.2 Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Orion and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Orion be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service.

10. Termination

10.1 By You

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

10.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, with or without notice.

10.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your access to the Service will cease
• Data will be retained for 60 days for potential reactivation
• After 60 days, all data will be permanently deleted
• You may reactivate by logging in within the 60-day period

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be notified via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.
